In celebration of Asian, Pacific Islander, Desi American (APIDA) Heritage Month, we welcome Gary Striewski as our featured speaker. Gary Striewski is an anchor for ESPN best known for his work on SportsCenter, SportsCenter on Snapchat, and his social media presence. He was formerly a sideline reporter for New England Sports Network (NESN) covering the Boston Red Sox. Gary will talk about his experience as an Asian American, his career in sports journalism and broadcasting, and the importance of representation and paving the way for others. He will also provide words of encouragement and showcase his sense of humor. The event will include a dinner for attendees provided by Hogan Dining. This event is co-sponsored by the Office of Justice, Equity, Belonging, and Identity (JEBI), Advocating Student Interest in Asia (A.S.I.A.), Developing and Educating South Asian Ideologies (DESI), Pinoys of Worcester (P.O.W.), and Men of Color Athletes and Women of Color Athletes (MOCA x WOCA).
