Peadar Giles is from Clarinbridge, Co. Galway and was born into a great musical family in 1998.
His mother Marion McCarthy, also a piper, is the daughter of the late Tommy McCarthy from West Clare, Peadar's father Johnny is a whistle and flute player from Galwav city.
At the age of eight he borrowed a practice set from Na Piobairi Uilleann and began learning from his uncle Tommy Keane. Peadar has attended workshops over the years with various teachers Including Jimmy O'Brien-Moran, Emmett GilI, Nollaig Mac Carthaigh and Mick O'Brien. Finally, he was taught by his cousin, Padraic Keane who had a big influence on his playing. He shares a full set of Leo Rowsome pipes with his mother which were passed down from his grandfather. Peadar moved to the US in March 2022 and now resides in Boston where he plays with lots of local musicians in The Burren and The Druid. He is currently playing a set of Benedict Koehler pipes. Peadar has been playing classical piano since a young age but was introduced to Irish music accompaniment by Verena Commins a number of years ago and has been playing more and more since. Peadar has fallen into the Irish music scene in Boston where he is often seen playing both instruments with family and friends.
